As a parent, it can be exciting for your child to join their first band. This is especially true if you're a musician who has played in various bands throughout your life. There are several different ways that you can support your child. Providing your garage for rehearsal space, driving your child and their bandmates to different events, and more can all be helpful. Another idea to consider is having some custom T-shirts made up. Doing so allows you to proudly display your support. There are a number of different types of custom shirts to consider, including the following.
Band Shirt
The most obvious type of shirt that you'll want to get made for your child is a general band shirt — in other words, a shirt that depicts the name and/or logo of the band. It's possible that the band doesn't have a logo yet. If that's the case, consider encouraging the members of the band to come up with a design. You can then take this design to your custom T-shirt company, have a graphic artist touch it up as needed, and then have it printed on some shirts. There's little doubt that your child and their friends will enjoy wearing these shirts to school and during performances.
Band Crew
Young bands will often need a hand setting up before performances and packing their gear up afterward. Generally, the band will recruit a number of friends of the members to help in this capacity. For these individuals, it can be exciting to help out — especially given that doing so often means getting to enjoy a performance, too. Consider making up "Crew" shirts for these helpers. The shirts can have the band's name and logo on the front of the garment with "Crew" across the back to provide an official look.
Band Parents
You probably attend many of your child's band's musical performances as a way of showing your support. While you can make generic band T-shirts for you and the other children's parents to wear, consider altering this idea to add some parent-specific wording to the design. For example, you might choose to have the T-shirt read "Proud Parent of" and then the name of the band. This is a good way to show your child that you support their musical endeavors, which can help to give them more confidence and let them know that you're firmly behind their hobby.
